ALU’ s biggest graduating cohort yet!


The African Leadership University (ALU) Rwanda has once again rolled out the red carpet for its graduation ceremony.

Following the successful hosting of Dr. David Moineh Sengeh, Sierra Leone’s youngest-ever Minister of Education in 2023, this year’s ceremony featured distinguished guests including the president of Rwanda Paul Kagame , Gaspar Twagirayesu minister of education in Rwanda, Dr. Rose Mukankomeje Director general of high education council, Dr. Fred Swaniker Founder of ALU, and Mr Veda Sunassee the CEO of ALU.

The event took place on Friday, June 7th, 2024, at African Leadership University campus grounds. About 400 graduate students from programs: Bachelor's of art in international Business and Trade and Bachelors of Global Challenges. This will officially be conferred accredited degrees. The event promises to be yet another unmissable opportunity for both students and graduates to learn from some of Africa’s most inspirational men and women leaders.

The opening speech was delivered by Dr. Nhlanhla Thwala the vice chancellor at ALU. Later the welcoming speech was delivered by the CEO of ALU Mr. Veda Sunassee, who later passed the baton to Dr. Fred Swaniker to share his insights. After this graduates were called upon to in their representative domains to receive their degrees.

Followed by performances, then Dr. Fred Swaniker welcomed the guest of honor president of Rwanda his excellency Paul Kagame ,who delivered an inspiring speech and was also given an award of best exemplary entrepreneurial leadership. After his speech a performance to display a chosen culture led to the end of the ceremony.
