CONSISTENCY IN VATEL

Vatel is a school of hospitality management, business management and tourism. It prides itself in the consistency of the services it delivers and this paves a way to success for the students in the university.

The weekly Guest Speaker series are one of the many things that Vatel is consistent with. During these series, the university invites different prominent and inspirational individuals in the hospitality and tourism industry. 

Students get to ask different questions as well get a glimpse of what awaits them and what is expected of them as people skilled in that particular industry.

The best thing about these series is that they also invite some Vatel alumni; this becomes the icing on the cake because the current students get to see that what they’re studying and that all the effort it is taking them is worth it. 

Uwase Blandine, one of the students pursuing a degree in Hospitality management affirmed that the consistency of these weekly series is indeed a great approach to help students understand more their next step after the completion of their studies. 

“We all love these series, we are able to meet with different professionals weekly and our fellow students who stepped out already. I for one the series bring clarity about what’s awaiting me in the industry, I get to hear different journeys of the guest speakers and learn from them, it reassures me that at the end of my studies I won’t be stepping in the unknown” Blandine said.

Riding into campus life

Bicycles at RICA Campus! It's been two weeks since the Rwanda Institute for Conservation Agriculture (RICA) introduced bicycles to the campus, and the impact has been remarkable. These bicycles, available for all students, have quickly become a vital part of daily life, transforming the way students navigate their academic and field activities. The initiative, aimed at promoting sustainable transportation and enhancing student convenience, received an overwhelmingly positive response. Students are seen cycling across the campus, their journeys to classes and fields made swifter and more enjoyable. RICA student cycling around campus "Having a bicycle has made my mornings so much easier," says Alice, a second-year student. "I no longer have to rush or worry about being late for my early classes. Plus, it's a great way to start the day with some exercise."

ALU’ s biggest graduating cohort yet!

The African Leadership University (ALU) Rwanda has once again rolled out the red carpet for its graduation ceremony. Following the successful hosting of Dr. David Moineh Sengeh, Sierra Leone’s youngest-ever Minister of Education in 2023, this year’s ceremony featured distinguished guests including the president of Rwanda Paul Kagame , Gaspar Twagirayesu minister of education in Rwanda, Dr. Rose Mukankomeje Director general of high education council, Dr. Fred Swaniker Founder of ALU, and Mr Veda Sunassee the CEO of ALU.     His excellency President Paul Kagame, Dr Fred Swaniker and Mr Veda Sunassee The event took place on Friday, June 7th, 2024, at African Leadership University campus grounds.
